What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil premium funding is described by the government as:
"Additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers" GOV UK
We will receive £1,445 per pupil for every child who:
- Are eligible for free school meals, or have been eligible in the past 6 years
We will receive 2,410 or a child who:
- Is a looked after child (LAC) defined by the Children Act 1989.
- Children who have ceased to be looked after because of adoption, special guardianship order or child arrangements order

Cantrell Primary and Nursery School is eligible for Pupil Premium funding. We use this to target and support our pupils in a number of ways. More information on how our Pupil Premium money is spent and the impact the funding has is shown in our statement below. This is reviewed annually.
